I had the pleasure of interviewing Abi as part of work to support Black heritage colleagues working within the Metropolitan Police. Whilst the focus was around the experiences of Black women, Abi’s insights provided broad perspectives and actionable activities that Met employees can take to improve their wellbeing.
Our conversation explored empathetic leadership, the critical role of line managers holding space, and the importance of self-care practices such as breathing techniques, nervous system regulation and meditation/prayer.
We were able to share practical tools to help female police colleagues prioritise their mental health – not as a luxury, but an essential practice free from stigma and penalty.

We were thrilled to welcome Abi Osho as one of our keynote speakers at this year’s Illuminate Conference, and she delivered a session that left a lasting impression on a room of 200+ early careers employers.
